Our centre in Caboolture includes engaging outdoor play areas with natural play elements that assist children to learn in an unstructured play environment.

Birth To 2 Years Room—1:4 Ratio

Our nursery is a beautiful homely, relaxed environment where we aspire to build trusting relationships with the children, families and caregivers. We aim to cater for each child’s individual needs by working collaboratively with families to ensure home routines can be followed as closely as possible in a caring and supportive atmosphere.

Our Nursery caters for up to 8 children per day, aged from birth to 2 years. The children are educated and cared for by experienced and qualified early childhood educators who are committed to providing a warm and loving environment where the children feel safe and secure and develop a sense of belonging.

We love outdoor play in the nursery room; we have an inviting yard with a large grassy area, a sandpit and sand kitchen where we ‘cook’ with wet and dry sand, leaves, bark, seed pods and more! The children love our banging wall where we can create lots of music and sounds. The large shady verandah allows the children outside opportunities whatever the weather or time in the day.

We respect each individual child’s need for comfort and rest and tailor our care to meet the needs of each child throughout the day. We like to have regular communication with families about how their child’s day is going through our Centre app – OWNA and also through face to face conversations. We believe that this helps to build a strong relationship between the families and educators which in turn will support their learning journey.

15 Months To 2.5 Years Room—1:4 Ratio

Our Toddlers Room caters for children between 15 months to 2.5 years of age who are educated and cared for by experienced and qualified Educators in a caring and nurturing environment.

In our toddler room the children experience a secure and happy environment with regular but flexible routines that encourage children to form positive attachments with the Educators in their room.

Each child is supported to develop at their own pace while being offered many varying play based experiences which challenge and engage the children, leading to meaningful learning opportunities. The program is underpinned by the Early Years Learning Framework and promotes experiences based on the interests of the children, enhancing each child’s learning and providing them with a real sense of belonging and wellbeing.

The children enjoy time in both our indoor and outdoor environments. We are proud to boast an inviting grassy playground with a sandpit, swings, gazebo, slide, climbing wall and a mud kitchen which the children love to “cook” in. We have a large, enclosed veranda which enables children to play outside regardless of the weather and at any time during the day.

The children’s independence is developed as they practice self-help skills such as recognition of their belongings, feeding, dressing and toileting.

Our main goal is to make sure that each child’s individual needs are met, encouraging friendships to grow and be nurtured, and most importantly, just having fun!

2 Years To 3 Years Room—1:5 Ratio

Our Juniors Room caters for children between 2 to 3 years of age who are educated and cared for by experienced and qualified Educators in a caring and nurturing Christian environment.

The children in the Juniors room are offered a program that is based on the Early Years Learning Framework and caters for the rapid developmental changes that occur in language and cognitive skills at this age. Each child is supported to develop at their own pace and is offered many varying play-based experiences, focused on their current interests. This enhances children’s learning and provides each child with a real sense of belonging and well-being. Our program includes a daily bible time where your child will begin to hear about God’s love for us through songs, rhymes and bible stories.

We believe that a child’s most influential teacher is their family and/or caregiver and as such we relish the opportunity to build positive and nurturing relationships with each child’s family to ensure that every child’s needs and interests are being met on a daily basis.

The children enjoy time in both our indoor and outdoor environments; we are proud to boast an inviting grassy playground with an adventure garden, sandpit, swings, and a mud kitchen which the children love to “cook” in. We have a large, enclosed veranda which enables children to play outside regardless of the weather and at any time during the day.

Juniors are encouraged to further develop their independence as they master toilet training, take more responsibility for their belongings and learn to play cooperatively with others.

It is encouraged in the Juniors room to problem solve, think creatively and experiment in an encouraging and stimulating environment aimed at developing confidence and a lifelong love for learning.

2.5 Years To 3.5 Years Room—1:11 and 1:5 Ratio

The children in Pre-Kindy are offered a program that is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and promotes play experiences based on the interests of the children. This program is focused on supporting the increased developmental changes that occur in language and cognitive skills at this age. This interest based program enhances children’s learning and provides each child with a real sense of belonging and wellbeing within the Pre-Kindy environment.

We believe that a child’s most influential teacher is their family and/or caregiver and as such we relish the opportunity to build positive and nurturing relationships with each child’s family to ensure that every child’s needs and interests are being met on a daily basis.

Our indoor environment is structured to meet the needs and interests of the children; we offer interest-based play spaces for children to explore that include but are not limited to, an art studio, a jungle adventure and a creative space. These play spaces are changed throughout the year according to the children’s interests and needs. We believe children do most of their learning through their play therefore we aim for these areas to provide opportunities to explore and discover new things while they play. The children continue to develop fine motor skills and develop their pre-writing skills through drawing, painting, art and craft.

Our daily routine includes Bible time where the children have the chance to learn about the Bible and God’s love for each of them and we focus on ensuring that we include Biblical concepts, such as loving your neighbour, being truthful and being kind in all that we do.

3.5 Years To 5 Years Room—our Approved Kindergarten Program—1:11 Ratio

Our Kindergarten room is a place where children love to come and spend the day with their friends, learning in a fun and engaging environment that belongs to them. We are in no rush to start school and enjoy every moment we have to learn with and from each other in a safe and challenging environment.

Our Kindy team are passionate about nature play, sustainability and building emotional resilience. We incorporate a Bush Kindy program within our service which sees us getting out and about in the community on excursions as well as engaging in natural play and risky play opportunities within the service. We believe this plays an important role in building each child’s confidence and abilities throughout the Kindy year.

The children really enjoy time in our outdoor environment. We are proud to boast an amazing spacious playground with a large sandpit, swings, fort and a natural forest area which the children love to explore, image and create in. We have a large shady veranda which enables children to play outside regardless of the weather and at any time during the day. We also have a separate outdoor play space set aside exclusively for our Kindy children.

Program Details

Our Government approved Queensland Kindergarten Program caters for up to 22 children per day aged between 3 ½ to 5 years of age. For children to be eligible for the Kindergarten Program, they must attend 15 hours per week. If you have a Health Care Card there is additional funding available. The Kindergarten program is led by our amazing and experienced, Bachelor qualified early childhood Teacher who is supported by qualified co-Educators in a caring and nurturing Christian environment.

The Kindergarten program is underpinned by the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and is designed to prepare children for their entry into Prep and the years of formal schooling ahead of them.

Caboolture Christian Children’s Centre offers a small Outside School Care program to families who have children attending the long day care centre already and have school-aged children.

Our Schoolies curriculum is supported by the “My Time, Our Place” Program. The framework conveys high expectations for all play and leisure activities in school-age care settings.

For our After School Care Program the children are collected from school. The Prep children are collected from their classrooms. Once they are back at the Centre, we all enjoy afternoon tea – which they like to organise themselves by getting fruit out and setting out the plates promoting their independence!

The children are then given the opportunity to complete their homework tasks each day before moving on to selected activities. We ensure that children in school-age care have opportunities to engage in leisure and play-based experiences which contribute fully to their ongoing development.

During school holidays we offer a fun-packed holiday program where the children go out on excursions most days and all costs are included in your fees.
